Extreme Exploitation

As the dawn awakes we used to see the "big orange" slowly rising between the two "green topped hills", birds fluttering around and making calls, it really gives us an exuberant day, with change in calendar pages the green tops faded lightly...

yes again a dawn awakes, its been years since i saw the big orange untying itself from the embrace of green tops, clock's small hand sticking to 6 and i was shocked to see it, the green top disappeared and its just an elevated platform on which big machines run with noise of rock beating across metal.

This is the past and present of "Mookkunnimala" , the block of small mountains situated in Thiruvananthapuram  in close proximity to the city. In a word it really makes the climate in and around the region more than comfortable, but the script is going to change , the pace at which indiscriminate mining is going on even blush Usain Bolt.

Its now or never.

This is the time to act if we loose a sec its going to cost you nothing much.. in simple words -you are going to get a rare 2-3 km  area full of  plot for sale boards or residential appartments  at the cost of a 1074m mountain, it sounds great, the lobby who had snatched all the alotted plantation plots just turned their fortunes around by quarrying at its max.

who suffers directly?

The common people living around mookkunnimala suffers most with heavy traffic that the roads can't handle which throws already pathetic roads to more than pathetic, a hike in dust level in atmosphere to gigantic proportions making the locals prone to respiratory and related illness.
